The freshwater Lake is suffering more and more the consequences of overfishing, a continuously sinking watertable and pollution due to wastewaters from the surrounding towns, agriculture, heavy metals from industry and mining.
For the people at the highest navigable Lake in the world (3810 m) life at all times was shaped by struggle for survival.
